The Army is an interesting thing. Guys (girls too but in Drew's unit just guys) are thrown together to quickly train before trusting each other with their lives in a war zone. Call it the stress, unknown, living conditions, being away from family...whatever it may be it makes for fast friends. Drew has been fortunate to work with a great group of guys. We are now at a different stage in the Army after two deployments where things are changing. Three guys have already finished their Army careers and are back home, one leaves today to head to Colorado, some are preparing for SF try-outs, and we will be leaving soon too. On Saturday, we had a goodbye dinner for our good friends Joey and Taylor. As I sat there, I realized Drew has only known these guys for a short time but they quickly found a way into our hearts. Now, as we head home to start the next chapter or other guys are thrown into the next group of guys who they will learn to quickly trust before redeployment, I realize we'll always be thankful for these guys we call our friends.
