Next Month

Drew will be home NEXT MONTH. Now we enter the true test of our patience. No more counting months. Now we count weeks. I am normally one for exclamation points but I tend to enter into this period where I don't need to add any more excitement to my already palpitating heart. Drew and I are both trying to stay calm and keep him focused but it sure is tough. Last week I went to Atlanta for work and rode up the same escalator that Drew did when he came home from Iraq for R&R. To see the big sign welcoming home our troops and remembering standing under it and laying eyes on my husband after six months is good for the soul. Well, good for the soul because I know we are so damn close to that right now but maybe not so good for the heart and anxiety levels. :) It has also been so exciting to watch friends welcome home their soldiers. Homecomings truly make it all worth it. The planning wheels are in motion and we have exciting family plans in the coming weeks too so fortunately I'll be busy. Drew will also shortly transition his work to the new guys arriving, go over the countless checklists, and make his way HOME. Cannot wait until Drew sees how cute our little man is becoming. This Cowboy Cole title seems to be sticking.

And of course he is a Mizzou fan!
