The past two Tuesday nights Drew and I have been going to our labor and delivery classes. It's a series of three classes taught by a nurse practitioner and a labor and delivery nurse where they teach you everything you want to know about delivering the baby. Some of the information I already know from books I've read but it's helpful to get information specific to how my doctor or the hospital will do things. This past Tuesday we got a tour of labor and delivery too which was really fun. Drew and I were impressed with how nice the rooms were. We of course had to hang back and take pictures to show our family. Clearly there is no hope in containing our excitement anymore if I am taking pictures of where we will be having the baby even though I am not having the baby yet. Oh well! We're excited to get to that point. I'm feeling good but am definitely feeling pregnant. I am ready to take off the pregnancy suit! Fortunately I have no major complaints, just excited!
Drew has been to Fort Benning (where he had basic training) the past two Fridays. It's about four hours from here. Last Friday he went to support some of his guys who were graduating from sniper school. Drew was supposed to go too but his hearing was bad in one ear when he got back from Iraq. He finally got it checked out and everything is now good to go but he didn't get medical clearance in time for this first school. He will be going to sniper school at some point after the baby is born. It was nice of him to make the trip to support his guys and I think he impressed his boss by requesting to go. This Friday he and four other guys went for a Remington class. For those that don't know, Remington is a gun dealer/maker and held a special certification class on bolt action rifles. Drew actually has a four day weekend for Father's Day so he was off today. You know he likes what he does if on his day off he wants to drive four hours to a class on guns. I am glad he likes what he does! He isn't back yet but I talked to him briefly and it sounds like it was well worth it.
That's it for now. This weekend we have a neighbor's 8th birthday party and Sunday we are having a BBQ with people from Drew's work. Tomorrow I am looking forward to a day at the beach. There is nothing like swimming when you are pregnant! It feels great. More to come soon. Happy Father's Day on Sunday!
