I still can't believe I am in my 3rd trimester and it is already May. This pregnancy has gone by really fast. Every time I am at the doctor (I go once per month) I feel like I was just there. Tuesday I went to the doctor and was so happy to hear the doctor joke that we have a 'textbook' baby. My weight, my blood pressure, my baby bump growth and his heart rate are exactly on target. That's what we like to hear! I wasn't sure if Drew was going to come to this morning appointment because he had been at work since 5am on Monday morning but he got a cup of coffee and made it. :) He wanted to hear the heartbeat and hear what the doctor had to say. His work days have slowed down after EIB but he had 24 hour CQ where he has to sit up at the headquarters and answer phones and handle anything that happens so that's why he had been at work for 30 hours. The big news on base was of course Bin Laden's death on Sunday night. I am so proud of our troops and the dedication they have shown to bring closure to this. I'm thankful there are men and women volunteering to protect and serve this country and am proud my husband is one of them. Not to be over the top but God Bless Them and God Bless America! We still have a long way to go but I'm glad they accomplished this. Security has really picked up on base too. When I went to my doctor's appointment I showed my ID three different times. They even card Drew when he goes into the gas station on post. I'm happy to show my ID but it makes me realize we definitely accomplished a huge feat here.
In baby news, I was so surprised when last Wednesday I called into a work meeting which I thought was just a one on one with my boss but my entire team and my boss' boss were on the line. A box had arrived from one of my teammates which she said I could not open until she said so, and sure enough they were all on the line and told me to open the box. My team lives all over the U.S. from west to east coast and they had taken that and translated it into a sports themed baby shower. This was my first virtual baby shower and I loved it. It was so thoughtful that they organized it and took time out of their busy schedules to listen to me open up their presents. Really nice of them!! Baby H now has sports gear from all of their local sports teams. So Boston, San Diego, San Francisco, St. Louis, Atlanta... Of course Baby H is a Cardinals and Mizzou fan at heart but Drew and I agreed he could sport this other gear too in honor of my work teammates. They also included gift cards, books, surfer gear (from one of my teammates in CA) and little baby toys and diapers. Again, such a nice surprise and so thoughtful!

Next weekend we are headed to St. Louis for our family baby shower which Sarah and Wade are hosting. We can't wait! It is going to be a super short trip but Drew will be able to make it and we are really looking forward to it. We're so lucky to have so many friends and family who are just as excited as we are about Baby Harris.
