Four Day Weekend

This weekend Drew and I enjoyed a four day weekend. Drew had a four day so I decided to take off too. We originally were going to go to Miami to see Drew's cousin Kristen and my friend Mary Beth but we realized we had work to do and needed to stick around here. So we ended up mixing beach days with work days and it worked out well. Friday we went to Tybee and enjoyed our first real 'beach weather' day of the season. The water is still too cold to swim but sun bathers were out in full force (including us). We are also getting into barbecue season. Almost every weekend we have either had people over for a bbq or we go to someone else's house. It's really nice to sit outside and grill and enjoy the weather. Saturday was a work day and among other things, we got new couches. Our couches, especially this big green chair thing we have, has finally succumb to life with two bulldogs and it was time to get fresh new furniture. We found a nice brown leather couch and matching love seat which should go well in the family room. We went with leather so we can easily wipe off dog slober and/or baby mess. :) There was a delay in shipping but the new couches should be here in a couple of weeks. Sunday was another fun day where we went to Jekyll Island and hiked and had a picnic. We then headed back to the neighborhood for another bbq at a neighbors house. I could get used to this beach and bbq trend! Then today was a work day where Drew got a ton done on his gillie suit. He is still working on it right now. Here's a picture of him sewing. He took the technical stuff to a seamstress but he took on sewing the mesh onto his pants.

Overall it was a great weekend and I am already looking forward to next weekend. Here's a picture of me at 18 weeks which was last Friday.

According to my baby books this month is a big growth spurt where the baby will go from 3oz to 26oz. My belly is really starting to grow and it will only continue. :)

Busy Busy

We've been busy! Drew loves his new job on the sniper team and has been busy gearing up. His latest project is working on his gillie suit. You know in the movies where you see guys crawling through the grass and you can't see them because their outfits look like grass and in most cases have grass on them? Well that is what Drew is working on. He gets to design is own suit so the guys pride themselves on it. Drew has been coming home with new ideas every night. His final suit is 'due' at the end of this month so the pressure is on! I am half teasing but it is important to have a good one because the idea is to go undetected no matter what the terrain. You know he is passionate about it when he is doing arts and crafts at his own will and even brought up the possibility of getting a sewing machine. It's great to see him excited about his new role and enjoying his job everyday especially when he has 12-14hour workdays.
Even with our busy work weeks, we have found time to relax on the weekends and have been slowly starting to scout out baby gear and have started thinking about what we want and need. In less than 4 weeks we will find out if baby H is a boy or a girl!! We can't wait!! We have no inkling either way and are looking forward to finding out. Tomorrow I'm 17 weeks meaning 4 months are down and I'm entering the 5th month. My work has been crazy too so these weeks are flying by. We're enjoying every minute of it though. I will try to post pictures soon and will give more thorough updates. Just trying to at least post a little something!
