Settling In
Drew and I have been busy! We drove back last Sunday from St. Louis and the trip ended up taking 15 hours. The drive normally would take about 12 hours but the moving truck really slowed us down. Our original thought was to have Drew's military friends help us unload but we ended up doing it all by ourselves. We were too excited to wait for them to come over that night. Between the two of us we unloaded 6,000 pounds in about 6 hours. We were exhausted! (I only know it was ~6,000 because we had to weigh it for the military.) Since then we have been going through boxes and unpacking. Drew returned to work on Wed and was happy to find out he had a three day weekend. I got back from a business trip last night and was so surprised to see our garage completely organized and cleaned up. He was excited to have the day off so he could devote himself to getting organized. And that he did! We still have a lot to unpack but we are taking our time and enjoying getting settled in. Right now the rest of Drew's team is on leave and they should be back this coming week. Nothing too new to report on Drew's status. We know he should be leaving before Thanksgiving and in the meantime will be training and preparing. Our plan is to enjoy each other and our new city until then. And that is exactly what we have been doing and will be doing. I'll post pictures of our house once we get everything put away. It was great seeing everyone in St. Louis. We wish we could have had more time to visit and see everyone but that will have to be a different trip. Here are a few pictures from our visit. Thank you for all of your love and support!

Homeward Bound
Drew officially checked out this morning and is now on leave for 10 full days! We are getting ready now to fly home to St. Louis. We are so excited to get our dogs and our furniture to finish making our new home complete. We will be busy packing but are going to try and sneak in some time with our friends and family before we head back. And of course, the farm is on our agenda too. This weekend we found our new favorite island. Jekyll Island is near St. Simon Island and is about an hour south of our house. We loved it!! The beaches and the scenery are absolutely gorgeous. We definitely will be heading back there soon. But for now, we are off to St. Louis!
